Homemade Falafel

Ingredients

  • Dried chickpeas, soaked overnight (1 cup)
  • Onion (1/2)
  • Garlic cloves (3-4)
  • Parsley (1 cup)
  • Cilantro (1 cup)
  • Chickpea flour (2-3 tbsp)
  • Baking powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Black pepper (1/2 tsp)

Instructions

  1. Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, salt, and pepper to the food processor. Pulse a few times.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. Add flour and baking powder. Mix well. Then refrigerate for an hour.
  3. Use your hands to form the mixture into balls.
  4. In a large skillet, heat avocado oil over medium heat. Add falafel and cook until balls are golden brown.
  5. Serve with hummus.
